I don't have a lot of luck leaving there empty handed.
We wanted a cat with personality- outgoing, affectionate, tolerant (hello Maya!), the kind of cat who would run for the door when you come home. We wanted a cat for Ella, that she could play with and who would sleep on her bed. The vet said get a male orange cat. We were thinking adult cat but there were none there that fit the bill.
And then we found him. In irresistible kitten form.
Pick-up day. Ella is dressed to impress. "He will be so excited when he sees our car pull up!"
Hello kitten. This is your new best friend and your new worst enemy.
Coconut, or cocoa for short. Ella's original idea for a name was Orange Coconut Flower. We worked with it...
Ella said, "He is going to grow up to be a professional player!"

Meeting Mochy who was less than impressed...
He is everything we hoped for, including VERY tolerant.

After the girls went to bed, we had a little fun with him ourselves...
But he was so tuckered out from the girls.

They say to keep a new cat in one room, introduce him slowly to people, etc. This kitten broke free of his barricade and made his way to the noisy downstairs, full of supper and bath and Ella/Maya craziness. He was not keen on spending his first night in the upstairs bathroom. He cried like a baby until we gave in. He slept the rest of the night trying to rouse me to play or sleeping on, and I mean right on, Sandi's head, claws at the ready for when he would slip.
